Ella's 1st Birthday

With my sister in town and her little girls birthday coming up soon after Ella's we thought how fun it would be to celebrate their birthdays together.  My Mom and Melanie made these adorable outfits and we all worked on making them two huge cupcake cakes. I thought why not do the cupcake theme- it is pretty popular for a little girls first birthday.  My Mom had also found this super old highchair that we got their pictures in.  Melanie took all these pictures and did such an amazing job.  Some of them are taken in front of the little old white house by my parents home.  My sister could just see how cute these pictures were going to be with the neat vines growing all over this little house.

We went way overboard for a 1st birthday and we know these little ones will not remember any of this but it was a memory that I know all of the rest of us will never forget. Thank-you Mom and Mel for making this such a special day.  It was well worth all the hard work.  (:

We had to freeze the cakes so the frosting would stay in place so instead of Ella being able to dig into it she went straight for the one on top.

We had so much fun working with fondant for the first time

All the cousins- All girls of course (:

We were in St. George over Ella's birthday so even though we had already celebrated it I could not resist to do a little something on her real birthday- July 21st.  We decided on taking her to one of our favorite restaurants- The Pizza Factory. I found this adorable cupcake cake for her and was so excited for her to dig into it.  She has a sweet tooth like her mom thats for sure. (:

Family Trip

This year we headed to St. George to be with all my family while Mel and John were in town.  It was 115 degrees most days so we were boating and swimming most of the time.  We really could not have asked for a better trip.

We are also very excited that Mel and John sold their home in Indiana and are moving to Utah. The trips my parents plan every year are usually the only times that Logan and myself get to see Mel and her family so we were all so happy to hear the good news.  They hope to be there for a while so it will be great to be able to live so close to them.  I only hope we don't end up moving away now that everyone is so close.

Thanks for everything- We love you guys

She points at everything- it is soo cute
She also LOVES to say "Hi" all the time- she will wave or take our cell phones and put them up to her ear while saying it

She's Walking

It's official- she is walking all on her own now.  She has always wanted to walk instead of crawl since day one of learning how. She has been walking with our help for a long time and over the last few months she was always getting close to doing it but she has had a few bad falls and I think it scared her a little bit. But over the last few weeks she has gotten the courage to let go of my hand and walk from one piece of furniture to the next and then on to walking all over the place.  It's so crazy for me to be walking around the house and having her follow me.  It's pretty cute too when Logan gets home from work and she walks right up to him and gives him a hug. It's a little hard at church though because she will see Logan up on the stand and wants to walk right on up there. Ella has always been one to never sit still so I am going to be even more busy, but I have loved every minute of being her Mom.
